Early in 2007, the international magazine ‘Newsweek’ portrayed London as ‘the blueprint for a 21st century metropolis’, not only instancing the capital’s world-status as a financial hub and applauding its eclectic range of cuisines but, also, singling out the Arts - our powerhouse of creativity.
If icons like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller are amongst your fan base and you’ve worked for designers like Matthew Williamson, Alexander McQueen and Joseph, names of international stature, then clearly you have a repute that extends well beyond your postcode.
So it is with Alex Gore Brown, a knitted textiles graduate and fashion knitwear designer now well-respected for creating elegant draped garments with a flowing sensuality all of their own.
Having concentrated on viscose fabrics she now also uses crochet to give her garments different textures, and ribbing and fluted sleeves have become a trademark of her much sought-after style.
